An narrative essay is a story written about a personal experience. In my essay I reminisced about a time my family and I went on a vacation to Walt Disney World. I have been to Walt Disney numerous of times so I brainstormed about all the times I have been and of a time that made an impact on me. I charted down my ideas, I asked myself questions to guide my ideas and I begin to organize how I wanted to present my experience at Walt Disney. My decision was to identify what is Walt Disney? where is it located? what is there to do? and some brief background information. Then I begin to go into detail on my experience's with the different activities they had to offer for kids of the ages 6-18 years old.

A Memorable Journey
Disney World which we all know is an entertainment complex in Bay Lake, Florida. The Resort was opened on October 1, 1971 according to Forbes, is the most visited vacation resort in the world, with an attendance of 52.2 million annually. I go to Disney World once every two years with family and friends not just for fun but for memories and a legacy I can carry on to my children. Going to Disney World can be a memorable journey because of visiting another state itself is a memory along with the things they have to offer when you get to Orlando, Florida like 27 themed resort hotels, four theme parks, two water parks, camping resort and restaurants .
Staying in Walt Disney World is like being a part of a Disney character and the family. They greet everyone with a smile everyday happy and eager to do their jobs and duties as part of the Walt Disney crew. I feel as if that is amazing, well I know myself because as a little girl experiencing it I was overwhelmed but amused. Getting to travel to a different state was already exciting because I haven’t been that far from Columbia, South Carolina, and going there was like going to a whole different planet itself at the age of 7. The different resorts have different themes based off of what part of the theme park you are closest to.
Magic Kingdom was the first and original theme park to open in the complex followed by Epcot, Disney's Hollywood Studios, and Disney's Animal Kingdom which opened later throughout the 1980s and 1990s. Magic kingdom resembled the Cinderella Castle, a replica of the fairy tale castle seen in the movie the Cinderella Story. Epcot is represented by space ship earth, a geodesic earth I don’t know too much about Epcot because it didn’t really interest me at the time but I have heard that it will take its cue from the new ideas and new technologies that are now emerging from the creative centers of American industry. Disney’s Hollywood Studios is represented by The Sorcerer's Hat, a stylized version of the magical hat from Fantasia.
It replaced the Earful Tower as the park's icon in 2001. My all-time favorite is Disney’s Animal Kingdom. I enjoyed the animal kingdom because I am an animal lover myself. Being able to see all types of animals was so amazing and they also had a show you could attend. I went to the Shamu the killer whale show, which was fun despite its scary name. They pick a few people from the stands to help out with tricks, and luckily, I was picked. I went down there scared but I did what they told me and I rode on his back. Accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums and the World Association of Zoos and Aquariums. Animal Kingdom is the fourth most visited amusement park in the United States. The park is represented by The Tree of Life, a sculpted 145-foot-tall, 50-foot-wide artificial tree.
Besides all of the wonderful themes and characters of Disney running around the parks who doesn’t enjoy a nice day at a water park? Well, I can say most parents don’t enjoy it because of all the kids running around and having to keep a very close eye on their little ones. I remember going to the water park laughing and dancing around the sprinklers with my family. I challenged myself to be bold that day I went down the mega slide. I’m not sure how tall it was but it was pretty darn big to me at the age of 7. I faced my fears and went for it, feeling proud of myself afterwards however it was most definitely worth it.
After a long day of fun and fellowship with my family we end the day off by going to a cordial restaurant. Orlando, Florida has over four thousand restaurants, so there are a variety of options to determine from. Since the ocean is surrounding Florida we usually go with a seafood restaurant majority of the time, because the fish, shrimp, crab legs and other seafood is fresh from the ocean. One of the seafood restaurants we go to predominantly is called Seafood Heaven the best seafood I have tasted in my life. I love this place because the food is fresh and mouthwatering, the employees are friendly as well as the manager producing good customer service, and for the food to be amazing the prices are affordable.
I can truly say I will never forget this trip. Disney World has everything a kid could possibly want to do at a young age. Going to a different state experiencing what it will feel like to stay in luxury for a week. Visiting all the theme parks, to riding in the water with killer whales was something outstanding. It made an effect on me to not be afraid to face your fears no matter what it is go for it and you won’t regret it. Not every child can say they faced their fear at a theme park at a young age because not every child has the opportunity to.
